Dear Quileute Tribal School Families,

As we begin the school year, we want to share an important reminder about food safety at QTS. To help protect students with severe food allergies, peanuts and tree nuts are not allowed at school.

Please keep the following expectations in mind when sending food to school:

• No peanuts or tree nuts: Students should not bring foods containing peanuts or tree nuts to school. Please check ingredient and allergen labels carefully when packing snacks or lunches.

• Treats for classrooms: Any treats or food brought to share with a class must be store-purchased and have an ingredient/allergen label. We cannot serve homemade treats or items without a label.

• When in doubt, please ask: If you are unsure whether an item is safe to send or share, please check with the school before bringing it in.

These precautions help us provide a safe environment for all students, including those with severe and potentially life-threatening food allergies.
